Nicola Daley is an award winning Cinematographer with a strong passion for creative and bold storytelling. Nicola has been nominated for an AACTA (the Australian Academy of Cinema and TV Arts award), won numerous ACS awards, including Gold and Silver awards for her short drama work. Nicola received the outstanding cinematography award at the 2011 and 2010 World of Women Film Festival in Sydney and the 2008 Fuji Film Flickerfest Award for Best Cinematography.

In 1999 Nicola decided to escape the cold dark winters of England and make the move to Sydney. After establishing the foundations of her career, Nicola was accepted into the prestigious Australian Film, TV and Radio School to study a Master of Arts in Cinematography in 2003. The following year, Nicola collaborated on the Oscar nominated short film 'The Saviour' and then in 2005 shot the winning Tropfest film 'Australian Summer.' She has experience with film and HD and in all areas, from music videos to drama to documentary. Nicola has also shot three feature films, including more recent work on John Winter's (Producer of 'Rabbit Proof Fence'), acclaimed directorial debut 'Black and White and Sex'.

Nicola has worked with some of Australia's most renowned documentary makers, including Tom Zubrycki and Anna Broinowski, and has shot in some of the most talked about places on earth including Afghanistan, Iraq and North Korea.

Along with her technical expertise, Nicola has a highly developed visual sense coupled with a strong instinct for composition and lighting. It is this intuitive capacity for emotional storytelling and a calm, professional approach to every project that defines her work.
